Some thoughts to ponder...

• Captains Speeches: I am not perfect but some of the Captains need to brush up on their communication skills. Some post match interviews almost require subtitles...come on guys! Learn to articulate your words, slow down and speak clearly...some coaching required in this area I feel. There are exceptions however ie Richie McCaw, Victor Matfield and Schalk Burger come to mind.
• Half Time Interviews: Not a fan...period!
• Scrum Engagement: Lose the word 'pause.' There is no need for it and it's causing too many penalities ie front rows have to anticipate the word 'engage.' Scrums are pausing between the word 'touch' and 'engage' anyway...why add the word 'pause' i.e. at the moment the sequence is 'Crouch' (pause), 'Touch' (pause), 'Pause' (pause), 'Engage.' That's 3 pauses in a row when really you only need 1. Catch my drift?
• Penalties: Is it possible to introduce a system similiar to that used in Basketball ie personal and team fouls? If the same player is penalised 3 or more times for example they are then yellow carded? Obviously it would depend on the severity (referees can use their discretion) ie if it was a dangerous tackle then they may be yellow carded instantly but if it was for repeated infringements (the number agreed upon by lawmakers) by the same player it would be an automatic yellow card. If there were 'x' number of penalties occurred by the team then a 'team' foul would come into play. Thoughts?
